Originally from Melbourne, Florida, Karen Iezzi attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree dual-majoring in International Studies and Foreign Literature.

Ms. Iezzi also attended the Universidad de Alicante in Spain and the Università degli Studi dell’Aquila as part of the study abroad program, where she spent one semester studying in each country following a summer internship in Rome, Italy. After finishing her degree, Ms. Iezzi attended Florida International University (FIU) School of Law in Miami, Florida. She completed FIU’s Immigration and Human Rights Clinic and summer internships in criminal law. She graduated and passed the Florida Bar in 2011. From 2011-2012, she worked as a law clerk at a family and estate planning law firm drafting wills, trusts, and probate pleadings as well as divorce and custody pleadings. From 2012-2014, she worked as an associate attorney for an Immigration Law Firm in Boynton Beach, Florida, handling hundreds of family immigration cases before USCIS, ICE, the Department of State, and the Miami Immigration Court (EOIR). From 2014 until the present day, she has operated her own law practice, focusing on family immigration law. Ms. Iezzi is a volunteer for the Brevard ACLU Immigrant Rights Working Group and has written about immigration issues for the Florida Today and the ACLU Blog.
