The United States, mired in its own economic malaise and tepid recovery, is getting into the economic advice business. The U.S. will send an “advisory team” from Washington to Puerto Rico to talk about deficits, and fiscal governance, and economic policy, and what not. But wait, what’s that old saying about people in glass houses? They shouldn’t give advice. However, if your economic situation is as bad as Puerto Rico’s, you’ll take advice wherever you can get it, especially if it comes from Uncle Sugar.
