India is rightly placed as one of the BRIC countries. However of the BRIC countries, it gets the least press, at least in these parts. Every other of the BRIC countries has a significant footprint in Miami. Yes, the Brazilians are in Aventura, the Russians are in North Miami, and the Chinese are taking over FIU, but the Indians? The Indians are trickling in, and not in large concentration or numbers. That may change if India’s economy starts to flex its muscles a bit, as it is showing signs of doing. No city in India is as cosmopolitan as Mumbai. And as Mumbai goes, so goes the rest of India, eventually. But at the same time, few places on earth transform themselves as quickly as Mumbai.
