Document the deal. That’s the best advice I could give would-be business partners. At the beginning everything is hot and heavy, full of passion, sleepless nights, chemistry making everything seem like it is destiny. Then something becomes annoying, or promises are broken, and the excitement starts to fizzle. That’s the time that the paperwork protects you, and makes parting ways potentially more smoothly. When working with co-founders, it’s best to set expectations properly from the start.
